We are excited to announce the Kuni Foundation’s 2023 Fall Grant Cycle. In response to the tremendous interest in our Imagination grants for cancer research and the feedback we received regarding the impact of these grants, this cycle will include a second round of Imagination grants for cancer research. Our Discovery grants for cancer research will return in 2024. We are exploring ways to further streamline the process and evaluating the timing of the grant cycle.
We will also include Transformation Grants focused on advancing housing for people with IDD. The Kuni Foundation has a special grantmaking focus on person-focused housing solutions for individuals with IDD. The Transformation Grants program provides funding for the exploration of new, inclusive and community-based housing approaches that are affordable, scalable and sustainable. Funding can be used for planning, pre-construction, construction or development of quality, affordable housing for people with IDD.
The Transformation Grant process opens Aug. 4, and begins with a simplified project brief. Application instructions and a preview of the application can be found on our IDD grant opportunities page. Project briefs are due by midnight Aug. 25. Applicants invited to submit a full application will be notified by Sept. 8. Proposals are due by midnight, Sept. 29. Applicants will be notified of decisions on Nov. 16.
Imagination Grants for Cancer Research serve as a catalyst for new exploration. These one-year grants are intended to fulfill an unmet need or to advance efforts in the pursuit of impactful and innovative cancer research. Due to the overwhelming interest in the Imagination Grants during the spring cycle, the foundation is providing a second round of funding to support cancer research efforts taking place across the Pacific Northwest. Grants can be used to support an existing program to broaden or strengthen the work or take the research to the next clinical phase or fund a new project.
The Imagination Grants for Cancer Research application opens on Aug. 21. Application instructions and a preview of the application can be found on our Cancer Research grant opportunities page. Applications are due by midnight on Sept. 29. Applicants will be notified of decisions on Nov. 16.
